Meet Our Staff

John Bosu is the principal agent and founder of Bosu Insurance Group and has been a licensed agent for over 35 years, becoming an expert in both personal and commercial lines. Starting as a life insurance agent at Banker’s Life, John dreamed of being his own boss and running his own company some day. John founded Bosu Insurance in 1998 as a one man band with the support of his wife Jane Bosu, who is still plays a major role in the agency to this day. After a few successful years, John’s late sister Cathy Bosu joined him, making Bosu Insurance a locally ran family business with his nephew Michael joining the business in 2005. Even after 35 years in the insurance business, John is still motivated every day to service his community to the best of his ability.

In his free time, John enjoys to travel with his family, swim, run, and anything to keep active. He has resided in Lake County for most of his life with his wife Jane and daughter Maggie. John is part of the Browns 40 Club and has been a season ticket holder for the Cleveland Browns the past few years. John is grateful for all the doors Bosu Insurance has opened for him and he regularly donates to charities such as St. Jude’s Children Hospital and the Salvation Army.

Maggie Bosu is daughter of agency owner John Bosu. Maggie attended Lake Catholic High School in Mentor, Ohio and continued her studies at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio which happens to be her father’s Alma Mater. She received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with focus on financial planning. Currently, Maggie holds her Property, Casualty, Accident, Life, & Health, and Long Term Care insurance licenses. Maggie is excited to officially be a full time insurance agent, following in her father’s footsteps with hopes to only grow the agency even more.

Maggie currently resides in downtown Cleveland in an apartment with a close friend where she enjoys all the excitement happening in the city and being close to friends. Maggie indulges in good food, hot yoga, and traveling.

Michael Sylvester has been a licensed insurance agent for 16 years now, starting his career with Bosu Insurance Group in 2005. Michael is licensed in Property, Casualty, Accident, Life, & Health and is an expert in both personal and commercial lines of the insurance business. Michael strives to provide clients with the best possible solutions and service for all their insurance needs. Michael’s favorite part of the job is educating his clients, that they fully understand the policy itself and all the different coverage options that are offered so they can choose the proper policy for their families needs.

Michael is married to his wife Jacquelyn Sylvester and they live in Willoughby along with their two sons Matthew and Ryan. Michael assists his father with the duties of Willowick Family Assistance, which provides Lake County residents with free chair, tent, and table rentals for residents to host parties and special events. In Michael’s free time he enjoys playing basketball, golf, and wiffle ball, especially with his sons, as well as spending time with family and friends.

Mark McNeill has been a licensed insurance agent for over 18 years as a Property & Casualty agent specializing in personal lines and bonds. Mark started his insurance career in 1996 with Progressive Insurance; moving to Bosu Insurance Group in 2003 for the opportunity to representative not just one insurance carrier, but over two dozen other insurance carriers. Mark is a customer service specialist and strives to make every client feel welcomed and happy.

Mark has been married to his wife Wendy for the past 20 years and they reside in Eastlake with their two children, Darren and Shannon. In his free time, Mark enjoys taking his motorcycle out for a ride and camping on weekends with his family.

Stephanie Cross has been a licensed insurance agent for 5 years, starting her career with Nationwide Insurance Company in 2015 as a Customer Service Rep/Sales Agent. She currently holds her Property & Casualty license and is looking forward to pursuing a Life & Health license. Stephanie joined Bosu Insurance Group in October 2019 as a Customer Sales Rep and Sales Producer; she is excited to further her knowledge in insurance sales and be able to fully service clients.

Stephanie resides in Mentor, Ohio with her fiancé Michael and the rest her family; they enjoy fishing, hiking, and spending time on Ohio’s beautiful beaches. Customer service is a passion for Stephanie as she enjoys helping families and businesses navigate through the many different types of protection options.
